The Egyptian Parliament Passes the Law Linking the Public Budget 2020-2021

The Egyptian Council of Representatives approved a draft law linking the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2020-2021, which begins on July 1st, and projects linking the budgets of the 53 economic public bodies, and linking the budget of the National Military Production Authority for the same fiscal year.

The House of Representatives approved the recommendations contained in the general report of the Parliament's Plan and Budget Committee, and transmitted the report and the discussions that took place around it to the government, to take the necessary measures regarding its recommendations and the observations made by the members of the Council.

The total uses of the new public budget project amounted to two trillion, 297 billion and 497 million pounds, compared to one trillion and 978 billion and 937 million pounds in the budget for the current fiscal year, an increase of 318 billion and 560 million pounds, while the expected revenues amounted to one trillion 288 billion and 753 million pounds and the expenses are about one trillion and 713 billion and 178 million pounds, with a deficit of 424 billion and 425 million pounds, unlike the public debt service for domestic and foreign loans, which amounts to about 566 billion pounds.
