Qatari banks' assets rise 4.4 percent

Assets of banks operating in Qatar rose 4.4 percent year-on-year to 1,448.4 billion riyals in July, while they declined marginally from June.

The consolidated balance sheet of banks issued by Qatar Central Bank for the month of July showed that total loans and bank facilities increased by 1 percent month-on-month to QAR 981 billion, supported by an increase in the total domestic private sector loans by about 15.7 billion to QAR 600 billion, compared to a decline in the public sector loans. by about 5 billion riyals to 290.5 billion riyals.

On the other hand, the total deposits decreased by 1.4 percent month-on-month to QAR 814 billion, under pressure from the decline of public sector deposits by about 13.2 billion riyals to about 252 billion riyals, against the rise of private sector deposits by about 3.7 billion riyals 354.4 billion riyals.
