UAE Ranked 1st in Arab World to Attract FDI

The United Arab Emirates ranked 27th in the world in terms of its ability to attract foreign direct investment, according to the classification adopted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), in the results of the World FDI Report issued in 2019, jumping three ranks in 2018 compared to its ranking in 2017.

According to the report, the UAE attracted direct foreign investment in 2018 amounting to US $10.4 billion, ranking first in the Arab world, accounting for 36% of the total foreign direct investment flowing to the Arab States, and second in the West Asia region, with about 33.4% of the total inflows of foreign direct investment into this region, as well as in the MENA region by 22% of the total inflow of FDI.

H.E Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy, said that "the UAE's advanced results confirm the confidence of international investors in the efficiency and quality of the business climate in the UAE and further consolidate the UAE's leading position as a major regional investment destination."
