Dubai Chamber Calls for Innovation in Solving Economic Challenges

"The global chambers of commerce must increase their contribution to the challenges of the 21st century," said Hamad Buamim, the president of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry." He added: “this role is crucial to help the business sector prepare to transform such challenges as technical transformation, technological revolution and climate change, to sustainable opportunities in the global economy."

Buamim’s speech was at the opening of the 11th Congress of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), hosted by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the participation of 1,200 participants from more than 100 countries around the world.

"The Chambers of Commerce are qualified to ensure the competitiveness of the business communities and the private sectors they represent through concerted efforts and coordination of the business future industry by creating solutions to the global economic and social challenges associated with the global business activity, the private sector plays an important role in the sustainable march of the business sector", he said.

Buamim called on the chambers of commerce to cooperate in order to remove the obstacles facing the world trade, adopt the fourth industrial revolution techniques and facilitate partnership and cooperation between the public and private sectors to meet the current challenges and trends such as climate change, digital change, migration, protection policies and economic and social reforms.
