Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi: Abundant Investment Opportunities Between KSA & Germany

In an interview with Asharq Al Awsat Newspaper, Abdulaziz Al-Mikhlafi, the Secretary General of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa), expressed the chamber's intention to explore new business and investment partnerships between the business sectors in Saudi Arabia and Germany in many fields, especially the renewable energy projects & precisely the solar energy.

Al-Mikhlafi explained that "in the light of Saudi Arabia's presidency of the 2020 Summit, there are ample opportunities for investment and cooperation between the largest Arab economy and the largest European economy, confirming the work with the relevant Saudi and German bodies to develop the relations for the benefit of the two countries and the businessmen from both sides.

According to Ghorfa’s Secretary General, the volume of trade exchange between Riyadh and Berlin was about 8.5 billion euros during 2018, and the Saudi Arabian exports to Germany include metal products, industrial plastics, in addition to the mineral ore, aluminum and its products and organic chemical products while the Saudi imports from Germany include machinery, electrical equipment, cars and pharmaceuticals products.

Mr. Al-Mikhlafi stressed that the economic partnership between the two countries has broad prospects for development and further cooperation, both at the governmental level and at the level of private sector companies, especially in view of the large projects in Saudi Arabia aiming at achieving the vision of 2030.
