Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan Hussein Yahya Junkol revealed that the country's total foreign exchange reserves by the end of 2018 amounted to 1.44 billion dollars, announcing the rise of foreign debt by the end of last year to about 50 billion dollars, up 3% from the end of 2017.

The governor explained, "The total banknotes issued since the beginning of last year 2018 until the end of last March are about 34.3 billion pounds."

Foreign debt increased by about $ 50 billion USD at the end of last year, up 3% from the end of 2017, citing an increase in interest payments of $ 30.3 billion dollars, representing 61% of total debt. He revealed that the volume of bank deposits increased to 190 billion pounds last year, compared with 125 in 2017.
