King of Jordan: Stimulation of Arab Economic Growth Requires Broad Partnership

On the shores of the Dead Sea (50 km west of Amman), Al- Sowayma hosted the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa under the theme "Towards New Cooperation Systems", in the presence of King Abdullah II of Jordan and the participation of more than thousand personalities.

In a speech at the opening of the forum, the Jordan's King Abdullah II called for "a broad partnership to stimulate the economic growth in the region," noting that "the people of our region, which are more than 300 million, represent a group of talent to compete in the world, they also provide a large market for consumers and businesses."

He continued sating: "we need a broad partnership to stimulate the economic growth, a partnership that includes private investment and productive capacity at all levels."

"This effort must be launched from the region, through regional-led initiatives, aims at prosperity and growth, and Jordan is committed to this approach," he said.

More than 1,000 personalities, including heads of states, governments, business and civil society from more than 50 countries, attended the forum.
