The World Bank Expects a Growth of 2.6% for UAE

The World Bank issued a report entitled " Reforms and External Imbalances" in which it expected that the real GDP of the United Arab Emirates is projected to grow by 2.6 percent in 2019, rising to 3 percent by 2020 and 3.2 percent by 2021, supported by the capital spending plans on infrastructure projects, especially with the hosting of “Expo 2020 Dubai”.

In the report, the World Bank forecast the real GDP per capita in the UAE to grow by 1.1 percent this year, rising to 1.6 percent next year and 1.9 percent by 2021.

It also expected the current account balance to rise to 7.8% of GDP this year, compared to 7.2% in 2018, and the public finance balance rising to 0.6% and to 1% in 2020 and to 1.3% in 2021.
