Inflation in the UAE rose 3.86 percent

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the UAE rose in August to 3.86% year-on-year.
According to the data of the Federal Authority for Competitiveness and Statistics, inflation was 0.15% on a monthly basis compared with July, with transport services increasing by 1.16% compared to last July, promotion and culture services by 0.94% and education services by 0.76%.
The Abu Dhabi index rose slightly by 0.13%, Dubai 0.21%, Sharjah 0.24%, Ras Al Khaimah 0.09% whereas it declined in Ajman, 0.18%, Umm Al Quwain 0.12% and Fujairah 0.20%. Food and beverages rose 0.14%, 0.01% for clothes & shoes, household equipment 0.29%, health services 0.03%, catering and hotels 0.13%, while tobacco prices unchanged at 86.40 points. The housing, water, electricity, and gas decreased 0.41% as well as the miscellaneous services by 0.46 percent.
