Revenues from Arab Tourism Exceed $67.6 billion

The tourism sector in the Middle East has recovered in 2017, with a significant rebound in tourism revenues, which reached 67.6 billion dollars, compared to 60 billion in 2016, according to a report issued by the World Tourism Organization.
According to this report, results from regional markets have varied, especially in terms of growth from a number of international visitors, which have reached about 58 million, compared to 55.5 million in 2016. The statistics of the organization show that international tourism sector recorded the highest growth rate of international tourists’ arrivals during the last seven years, as destinations that have experienced security challenges in recent years have returned to growth, and demand from emerging markets has rebounded.
The World Tourism Organization report showed that the total number of international visitors around the world in 2017 exceeded 1.3 billion tourists, with an increase of 84 million tourists compared to 2016, while international tourism revenues rose by 4.9 percent, to 1.34 trillion dollars in real terms.
