The Egyptian government has raised its expectations for increased tourism income to $18.3 billion by the end of the current fiscal year 2025–2026 — a 9.5% growth compared to the previous fiscal year, during which revenues reached approximately $16.7 billion.
The average tourist spending during the past fiscal year 2024–2025 stood at around $97 per night, with projections to exceed $105 per night by the end of the current fiscal year. The total number of tourist nights spent in Egypt reached 172.2 million nights, with an average visitor stay of 10.5 nights. The target is to reach 240 million nights during 2028–2029, raising the average stay to 11 nights. Egypt aims to attract around 30 million tourists annually by 2030, with projected tourism revenues exceeding $24 billion by the end of fiscal year 2028–2029.
