European Union member states have agreed to impose retaliatory tariffs ranging from 10 percent to 25 percent on U.S. imports, which will take effect from April 15. The European Union has agreed to impose tariffs on 21 billion euros worth of U.S. goods. The European Commission approved a package of counter-tariffs on U.S. aluminum and steel products.
Imports include motorcycles, poultry, fruits, timber, clothing and dental floss. It totaled about 21 billion euros ($23 billion) last year, meaning EU actions would be on goods worth less than 26 billion euros worth of European metal exports covered by U.S. tariffs.
