US President Donald Trump approved a series of new tariffs targeting 180 countries and regions around the world, as part of protecting the US economy and holding countries that treat the United States unfairly accountable.
Trump confirmed in his remarks that the tariffs will include imposing 34 percent on China, 24 percent on Japan, 31 percent on Switzerland, 46 percent on Vietnam, 32 percent on Taiwan, 26 percent on India, 50 percent on Lesotho, while the European Union will impose 20 percent tariffs, while the lowest rate of tariffs will be for Britain at 10 percent. The fees also included 30 percent on Algeria, Oman 10 percent, Uruguay 10 percent, Bahamas 10 percent, Ukraine 10 percent, Bahrain 10 percent, Qatar 10 percent. Mauritius, 40 percent, Fiji Islands 32 percent, Iceland 10 percent, Kenya 10 percent, Liechtenstein 37 percent, Guyana 38 percent, Haiti 10 percent, Bosnia and Herzegovina 35 percent, Nigeria 14 percent, Namibia 21 percent, Brunei 24 percent, Bolivia 10 percent, Panama 10 percent, Venezuela 15 percent, North Macedonia 33 percent, and Ethiopia 10 percent.
