Egypt's Tax Revenue Rises 38.4 Percent Year-On-Year

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed the importance of achieving fiscal discipline, increasing spending on the health and education sectors, as well as supporting social protection programs.

Madbouly reviewed a number of financial performance indicators during a meeting with Finance Minister Ahmed Kajouk, who revealed the most prominent results of financial performance during the first eight months of the fiscal year 2024-2025, which included achieving a primary surplus of EGP 330 billion, and an increase in tax revenues by 38.4% year-on-year, the highest growth rate of tax revenues in years.

The Ministry of Finance's report on economic and financial performance showed that the domestic and external public debt of the budget agencies rose to about 12.5 trillion pounds by the end of the fiscal year 2023-2024, equivalent to about 247.1 billion dollars.
