The total global debt owed to the IMF stood at $144.9 billion as of February 25, 2025, or $110.3 billion in SDRs, a slight decrease compared to $112.8 billion of SDRs at the end of February 2024, or $148.18 billion.
Although 93 countries owe the IMF, the top 10 debtors account for more than two-thirds (69.3%) of total outstanding debt. Yemen is no longer on the list of debtor countries to the IMF, after it owed $6.4 million, according to the latest update of FDI Intelligence in April 2024.
