Saudi non-oil exports (including re-exports) rose 18.1 percent in December last year to 29 billion riyals ($7.7 billion). Non-oil exports excluding re-exports increased by 15.9 percent.
Oil exports fell by 10 percent, and their share of total exports fell from 74.3 percent in December 2023 to 68.8 percent in December 2024.
According to data from Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Statistics, the trade balance surplus fell by 56.1 percent year-on-year in the last month of last year. The pressure on the trade balance came from two main factors: the increase in merchandise imports by 27.1 percent to 79 billion riyals on an annual basis, while merchandise exports fell by 2.8 percent to 94 billion riyals.
