Brazil's economy grew 3.8 percent in 2024, data from Brazil's central bank showed, reflecting continued stronger-than-expected growth despite losing momentum in recent months as a result of significant monetary tightening. This indicator, which includes indicators of production in the agricultural, industrial, and service sectors, as well as production tax data, is one of the most prominent indicators of GDP.
According to the data, economic activity was flat in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter. On a seasonally unadjusted basis, the IBC-PR index rose 2.4 percent compared to December 2023.
