Kuwait Expects New Budget Deficit of Around 6.3 Billion Dinars

At the General Budget Conference for the fiscal year 2025-2026, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance affirmed the work of the state's strategic directions, general policy, and future aspirations to achieve its developmental, economic, and social goals.

According to the draft budget, public revenues were estimated at KD 18.2 billion, while the deficit amounted to KD 6.3 billion, and expenditures amounted to KD 24.5 billion.

The Kuwaiti Minister of Finance explained that oil revenues amounted to 15.3 billion dinars, a decrease of 5.7 percent from the previous fiscal year as a result of estimating the price of a barrel of oil for this year at $ 68, while non-oil revenues amounted to 2.9 billion dinars, an increase of 9 percent over the previous fiscal year. As for the components of budget expenditures, salaries and the like amounted to 15.0 billion dinars, support amounted to 4.4 billion dinars, capital expenditures amounted to 2.2, and the remaining expenditures amounted to 2.8 billion dinars.
