British Economy Grows by 0.1 Percent

The British economy grew in the last quarter of 2024, contrary to expectations of contraction, and the data came after the Bank of England's decision to cut interest rates by 25 basis points.

According to data from the National Statistics Authority, the UK's GDP grew by about 0.1 percent in the October-December period, versus expectations of a contraction of 0.1 percent.

Britain's economy contracted 0.1 percent in October. It grew about 0.1 percent in Novemberand sterling reacted positively to that data, rising about 0.4 percent against the dollar.
