The number of international tourists who visited the GCC countries by the end of 2023 reached about 68.1 million international tourists, an increase of 42.8 percent compared to 2019, according to data issued by the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in December 2024.
According to the data, the GCC countries have achieved 52.9 percent of the first strategic goal of the Joint Tourism Strategy 2023-2030, which is related to gradually increasing the number of incoming flights to reach 128.7 million tourists. Total international tourism revenues increased by 28.2 percent by the end of 2023 compared to 2019 to reach US$110.4 billion, achieving 58.7 percent of the second strategic goal of gradually increasing international tourist spending to US$188 billion.
