UAE Aims to Increase Non-Oil Sector Contribution By 80 Percent By 2031

UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri explained, "The UAE's non-oil GDP grew by about 6 percent in 2024 and currently constitutes 75 percent of the national economy, and the country seeks to raise this percentage to 80 percent by 2031."

"The main sectors supporting this growth include e-commerce, which grew to $6.5 billion in 2024, with expectations to increase to $9.5 billion by 2026, exceeding $10 billion over the next seven years," he noted.

He noted that the International Monetary Fund's forecasts indicate that the UAE's GDP will grow by 5.1 percent during the current year 2025. He pointed out that we hope that economic growth has exceeded 4 percent in 2024.
