Egypt's Gold Exports Double To $2.1 Billion in 9 Months

Egypt exported quantities of gold worth $ 2.17 billion during the first nine months of 2024, compared to $ 1.11 billion in the parallel period last year, a growth of 96 percent.

Egypt made a significant jump in its export revenues from gold (including platinum-plated gold) during the month of September alone, which saw exports worth $ 460 million, compared to about $ 179 million in the same month last year, an increase of 156 percent.

The UAE and Switzerland have been the top importers of Egyptian gold since the beginning of this year, accounting for a share of more than 95 percent of total exports.
