Qatar Directs Its Budget Surplus to Reduce Public Debt

The Qatari Ministry of Finance revealed that the total general budget revenues for the fourth quarter of 2023 declined by 10 percent quarterly. Qatar's total revenues amounted to QR55.6 billion (about $15.27 billion). The state budget recorded a surplus of QR1.4 billion ($385 million), which was directed to reducing public debt.

Qatar's revenues ranged from QR51 billion ($14 billion) in oil revenues to QR4.6 billion ($1.26 billion) in non-oil revenues. Total public spending was QR54.2 billion ($14.89 billion), representing an increase of 8.9 percent.
