UAE Banks Add a Quarter of A Trillion Dirhams to Net International Reserves

Net international reserves held by UAE banks (Central Bank and banks operating in the UAE) increased by AED 257.97 billion year-on-year, or 33.07 percent, to reach AED 1.038 trillion by the end of last September, compared to AED 780.08 billion by the end of September 2022.

During the first nine months of 2023, net international reserves increased by 20.57 percent or AED 177.08 billion, compared to AED 860.97 billion at the end of December 2022. On a monthly basis, it increased by AED 28.92 billion, or 2.87 percent, compared to about AED 1 trillion at the end of August 2023.
