Islamic Banks' Assets in Oman Amounted To $18 Billion

The CEO of the Central Bank of Oman, Taher bin Salem Al-Omari, explained that the total assets of Islamic banks and windows in the Sultanate of Oman reached 7 billion Omani riyals (about 18 billion dollars), an increase of 13 percent year-on-year, until last September.

"Islamic banking institutions provided financing worth RO 5.8 billion (USD 15 billion), while their total deposits amounted to RO 5.3 billion (USD 13.7 billion), which corresponds to a market share of 17.6 percent in terms of total assets and more than 19 percent of the market share in terms of Islamic finance and Islamic deposits."
