$71 Billion is needed by 11 Arab Countries to Accelerate the Green Transition

The Director General of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Bader Al-Saad, revealed that the financial needs of eleven Arab countries to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions are estimated at $ 71 billion annually until 2030.

Governments in the region are facing the imperative to exert more efforts at all levels to increase the pace of their green investments, in order to stimulate the growth of their economies on a sustainable basis in line with future challenges.

Al-Saad explained that the contribution of investment in climate change in the Arab countries amounted to 2.5 percent of the total investments, which amounted to about $ 633 billion.
