Estimates issued by the Governmental Statistics and Information Center showed that foreign direct investment flows to the Omani market have grown steadily since the beginning of this year, thanks to the policies pursued by the government supported by the easing of closure restrictions due to Corona.

According to the data, the volume of capital increased by the end of the first half of this year by more than 10 percent, as investments between January and last June amounted to about 18 billion riyals ($46.8 billion), compared to $39.95 billion, on an annual basis. Until the end of the second quarter of this year, the oil and gas sectors contributed 68.14 percent of the total foreign direct investment.

The manufacturing sector ranked second with 9.42 percent, followed by the financial intermediation sector with 8.74 percent. In fourth place comes the real estate, rental, and commercial project activities with a rate of 5.84%, while the percentage of other sectors reached 7.88 percent.

The United Kingdom ranked first in terms of the most invested countries in the Sultanate of Oman, then the United States, then the UAE, then Kuwait, followed by China.
