UAE is the First in the Arab World in the Human Development Index 2022

The United Arab Emirates ranked first in the Arab world in the Human Development Report 2022 issued by the United Nations Development Program. It advanced in the global ranking by five places from the classification of the last report, to come in 26th place globally among the 191 countries covered by the report, and ahead of countries such as Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, making the UAE the only Arab country among the top 30 countries in the world.

The Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Emirates Competitiveness Council, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, noted that the government of the United Arab Emirates is working under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, according to clear directions and ambitious steps to achieve its vision and to promote the transition to a sustainable economy based on knowledge, and to adopt sustainable development policies that give people the highest priority, to ensure a better tomorrow for future generations.

He added that the UAE, within its national strategy for the UAE Centennial, sees human development as a permanent process that does not know stop, and is moving towards it with an ambitious vision that looks forward to the future. The culture of excellence is established in being at the forefront of the world in competitiveness at various levels, and the UAE has proven day after day its leadership in the Arab world and its global supremacy in the field of human development. This is thanks to the successful policies pursued by the state to achieve the highest rates of development and growth in the fields of education, health, economy, and quality of life, and to achieve sustainable development in all fields.
