A report issued by the Qatar-US Business Council, working under the umbrella of the Qatar Financial Center, expected that the gross domestic product of the State of Qatar would rise by approximately 25%, from $161 billion in 2021 to $201 billion in 2025.

The Planning and Statistics Authority in Qatar expected the Qatari economy to grow by between 1.6 percent and 2.9 percent this year, while the Qatari economy had achieved a growth of 2.3 percent in 2021. According to the economic prospects report, the growth came as a result of the recovery of non-oil activities at a rate ranging between 2.8 percent and 4.7 percent, especially the manufacturing, building and construction sectors, services, and those related to tourism, as well as the recovery of wholesale and retail trade, and transportation activities.

Qatar was able to successfully overcome many economic challenges, including the Corona pandemic and other challenges, by setting favorable foreign direct investment policies, launching major initiatives, and enacting new legislation that attracts investors to enhance its knowledge-based and diversified economy. Foreign direct investment in Qatar has taken an upward trend thanks to the climate of stability in various fields, high-quality infrastructure, a stable currency, and low corporate tax rates, which will have a direct impact on the GDP.
