A report issued by "Orient Planet Research", entitled: "Macroeconomic Indicators for the GCC Countries 2021", expected the return of the nominal GDP of the Gulf countries to a positive growth path during the year 2021.
According to the report, the Gulf economies will witness a significant growth rate of 14.51 percent this year, given several factors, most notably the ongoing preparations to host a number of major global events such as Expo 2020 Dubai.
The report included estimates that the nominal GDP of the Gulf Cooperation Council will reach 1.61 trillion dollars this year, compared to 1.41 trillion dollars last year, based on the expectations of the International Monetary Fund, which shows a positive economic transformation in the GCC countries, after it recorded a negative growth in nominal GDP by 14.18 percent during the past year as a result of the repercussions of the global crisis caused by the Corona pandemic, especially in terms of the sharp decline in oil prices.
