On the sidelines of the meetings of the 131st session of the BOD of UAC, which was held in Dubai - the UAE, Dr. Khaled Hanafy, the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, met with the regional advisor for the Gulf Cooperation Council, Iraq and Yemen at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Shaheen Ali Shaheen, and the President of the International Bureau for the Middle East and North Africa, Rafael Solimao, in the presence of the Director of the Arab Foreign Joint Chambers in the Union of Arab Chambers, Hoda Kachtan, and the Dubai office team at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber.
Dr. Khaled Hanafy noted the importance of having an office of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber in Dubai - UAE, which would provide opportunities for business owners from Arab countries and Brazil to meet and exchange ideas, thus enhancing the possibility of creating partnerships in the fields of trade and investments.
Hanafy praised the development of the distinguished relations between the Arab countries and Brazil, pointing out that it is a model of integration, which shows a great potential for cooperation in many commercial, industrial and investment sectors. He also pointed out that the exchange of visiting delegations and meetings could contribute to enhancing cooperation opportunities and opening new horizons between the Arab and Brazilian sides.
Shaheen Ali Shaheen said that "the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is working on developing a program and an action plan to enhance its role across the GCC countries and contribute to achieving the goals for which the Chamber's international office was established in the UAE, which is to meet the needs and requirements of business owners from Arab member countries and provide information on commercial and investment activity for those wishing to do business in Brazil, in addition to assisting Brazilian businessmen working in the Arab region, which removes the difficulties and obstacles they are facing, and helps them to conduct business easily in the Arab region.
For his part, Solimao affirmed that “since inauguration of the international office of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Dubai - UAE, it has contributed to setting a new dynamic for Arab-Brazilian relations, based on closer ties between businessmen and institutions in both regions."
He added, "we were able to achieve our main goal of strengthening the bonds of rapprochement between the Arabs and the Brazilians, as we built a firm bridge between these two worlds."
Solimao also considered that "the presence of the Chamber's office in Dubai – UAE, opened the doors and provided opportunities for the Brazilians in the Arab world and the Arabs in Brazil," noting that "the rapprochement between the two parties was strengthened through business and investments, and also through the friendship that grew in depth and strength."
