The President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, headed an economic delegation to the headquarters of the Beirut Chamber and Mount Lebanon, where he met with the President of the Federation of Lebanese Chambers, Minister of Communications Mohamed Choucair, A Lebanese-Bulgarian economic meeting was held, attended by a large crowd of Lebanese economic businessmen leaders, and a delegation of Bulgarian businessmen.
Choucair speech insured that “The Lebanese private sector has been able to prove itself in Lebanon and in the world, the successes and success stories of the Lebanese businessmen, which are a source of pride for us, which formed a bridge to the development of our economic relations with friendly countries. Based on this, we have established a joint business council at the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber between our two countries for our conviction and belief that the partnership between the public and private sectors will establish useful cooperation, identify feasible opportunities and create business partnerships for joint work in the future.”
In his speech, President Radev expressed his pleasure at the results of his meetings with Lebanese officials, stressing that the promotion of the economy requires the availability of confidence factors and political consensus. He stressed the importance of the historical friendship between Bulgaria and Lebanon and the necessity of continuing the dialogue and constructive communication of building to the future, expressing optimism for the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
President Radef called on the Lebanese businessmen to increase their investments in his country, stressing that there are many promising opportunities, especially that Bulgaria is an important gateway for Lebanese companies to Europe. "We also look at Lebanon as a gateway to Bulgarian companies wishing to expand into the Middle East," he said.
