Mohammed Ghassan Al Qalaa, President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, received an Italian delegation headed by Antonio Loki, Secretary-General of the Mediterranean Institute for African and Asian Studies, and accompanied by President of the Calabria Chamber, Mr. Rossi Kadamazar, along with a number of representatives of Italian Companies.
The delegation expressed its pleasure to visit Syria and praised the return of security and safety in the Country, pointing out that the visit aims at reviving the Syrian-Italian Friendly Partnership. He also expressed the desire of Italian Companies to participate in the reconstruction of Syria.
In turn, the Syrian’s side welcomed the guest delegation and wished upon Italian Companies to bypass the boycott provisions in order to restore their presence in the Syrian Market. The Federation pointed out, "due to the boycott imposed by Italy, many of the Italian Companies were redirected to friendly countries which had stood by the Syrian’s crisis and which had pre-established economic, trade and banking relations with Syria." The Syrian’s part finally raised the need to work on restoring the relations to its previous state, with the Italian counterpart.
