The Union of Arab Chambers deplores the US president's decision to transfer the US embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, which would have negative effects on the economic and trade relations between the Arab and American private sectors and affect American economic interests in the Arab region.
The Union, as the representative of the Arab private sector, affirms its rejection of this resolution, which conflicts with the international legitimacy and the Charter of the United Nations. It also contradicts international laws and ignores the feelings of all Muslims and Christians, and it ensures that Jerusalem was and will remain an Arab city and the capital of the State of Palestine.
