Qatar's Budget Records a Surplus of 24.6 percent

Qatar's general budget recorded a surplus of QR 8.85 billion during the first half of this year, an increase of 24.6 percent over the surplus recorded during the same period last year, which represents 4.2 percent of GDP.

According to the data issued by the Qatar Central Bank, the general revenues of the State of Qatar amounted to QR 112.2 billion in the first half of this year, compared to QR 103.3 billion of expenses.

Qatar's general budget for the current year estimated a surplus of about 4.3 billion riyals by the end of the fiscal year, with total expected revenues of about 211 billion riyals and expenditures of about 207 billion riyals, at a reference price of a barrel of oil at $55 a barrel.
