The United Arab Emirates has approved a 180 billion dirhams ($ 49 billion) federal budget for the next three years, and a budget of $16.4 billion (AED 60.3 billion) for 2019, with a significant portion amount going towards the sectors that are directly related to citizens and their services.
Of the 2019 budget, 42.3 percent will be allocated to the community development programs, 17 percent to the education system and 7.3 percent to develop the health sector and provide the best medical services.
The UAE Cabinet, headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that the Federal Budget with all its plans and programs is a translation of the directives of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to provide a decent life for citizens and residents in the UAE to the vision of the UAE 2021 and the goals of the United Arab Emirates 2071.
“Citizens are our top priority. We have allocated the bulk of the budget to ensure its prosperity, health, education, and security,” he said. “We have new tasks, we have a renewed vision, and the people have future aspirations, and no excuse today for ministers and managers to implement their strategies to achieve the vision of the UAE 2021.”
