Arab Economic Review Issue 34

Article 34 of the quarterly economic bulletin for the second quarter of 2017 deals with five specialized economic researches prepared by the Economic Research Department of the Union of Arab Chambers. And deals with economic issues vital to the Arab economy will have significant effects in the current year as in the coming years.

The first research, entitled "Prospects of the World and Arab Economy 2017-2018," envisages the latest developments and challenges of the global and Arab economic conditions and the prospects for 2017 and 2018. It presents an analytical reading of the changes in economic globalization, trends in Arab economic growth, and examines the needs of adaptation, reform, economic diversification and the requirements of the private sector to enhance its role in Arab trade and economic development and integration.

Under the title «Implications of raising the support and the new tax environment on the private sector in the Gulf Cooperation Council», the second review reflects the expected effects of raising the support and the new tax environment on the private sector in the GCC countries and the restructuring requirements that require the private sector to prepare for them.

The third paper, "Food Safety within the Greater Arab Free Trade Area," deals with the challenges involved in this important subject, given the current performance of intra-Arab trade. As well as the means of development within the framework of a key role of the Arab private sector, and in accordance with international food standards and standards and the basic principles that should be adopted.

The fourth study examines the impact of the weakness of commercial transport to Africa from and to the Arab world, and the role of the private sector in its construction and development, in order to enhance trade and investment exchange and economic integration between the two groups.

The fifth paper, "Current and Future ICT Development in the Arab World"

It examines the developments in the ICT sector in the Arab world and the future trends of this sector, which is still witnessing rapid growth and entering into various aspects of economic and social life. Identifying the areas of fruitful development, reviewing challenges and difficulties facing the private sector, and issues that need attention to achieve the desired benefits of the Arab economies.

They hope that these contributions, which illuminate fundamental economic aspects of the Arab economies, will receive attention from the Arab business community and economic decision makers.
