Air Travel Continues Its Recovery Journey

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) revealed air travel performance data for November 2023, which showed high levels of demand for air travel during this period, reaching 99 percent of the levels recorded in 2019.

Total air travel, measured as revenue per passenger kilometer, increased by 29.7 percent in November 2023, compared to the same month of the previous year, while reaching 99.1 percent of the levels recorded in November 2019.

International travel increased by 26.4 percent compared to November 2022. Asia Pacific continued to record the strongest year-on-year results (+63.8%), while all regions showed improvement compared to the previous year. Revenue per passenger kilometer for international flights in November 2023 was 94.5 percent of November 2019 levels.
