During their seventh meeting held in the Sultanate of Oman, the tourism ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries approved the unified Gulf tourist visa. The procedures for implementing this visa will be discussed during the next month by the interior ministers of the GCC countries to approve it and then submit it to the leaders’ meeting at the summit. In the next Gulf period, after the visa is approved, controls and legislation for its implementation will be established. It is expected to enter into force during the years 2024 and 2025, depending on the readiness of the internal systems of the “cooperation” countries.

The new visa will allow the holder to visit six countries on a unified tourist visa, aiming to attract tourists and keep them in the GCC for a longer period, which will enhance the Gulf economic integration.
