Oil prices fell slightly on Tuesday after rising more than 4 percent in the previous session, as markets assessed the possibility of supply disruptions as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict continues.
Brent crude fell 18 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $87.97 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude fell 16 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $86.22 a barrel.
On Monday, the two benchmarks gained more than $3.50 on news of the conflict after falling sharply in volatile trading last week.
