The Algerian government has approved an additional budget, which is expected to be presented to parliament in the coming weeks, carrying "corrections" in the way public spending is managed, which reached historic levels in 2023, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said.

It is noteworthy that the additional budget for the current year carried an additional budget of 920 billion dinars, or $ 6.8 billion, pumped into the first budget, estimated at about $ 98.5 billion (more than 13 thousand billion dinars). Which jumps the general budget for the year 2023 by 6.7 percent, making it the largest in the history of Algeria since independence in 1962.
