Spain's post-COVID-19 economic growth exceeded initial estimates, according to new figures published by the National Institute of Statistics, with GDP recording an increase of 5.8 percent in 2022, up 0.3 percent compared to what was expected.

In 2021, GDP rose by 6.4 percent, an increase far exceeding the 5.5 percent initially estimated, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) confirmed.

The Spanish economy returned to its pre-pandemic level last year and not in the first quarter of 2023 as previously estimated by the institute.
