High Foreign Investment in Turkey

The volume of foreign direct investments in Turkey is about 254.2 billion US dollars after it was in the range of 14 billion dollars during the period between the seventies of the last century until the beginning of the current century.

Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati revealed that total foreign direct investment increased from $ 14 billion during the period between 1975 and 2001, to about $ 254.2 billion between 2002 and 2023. He explained that the number of foreign companies increased, during the two time periods, from 5,600 companies in 2002 to 79,564 at the beginning of this year.

It is worth noting that the Turkish economy was affected by the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck, on the sixth of last February, areas in the south of the country, and the value of its losses was estimated at $ 100 billion.
