The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce has signed a partnership agreement with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency “Apex-Brasil” to promote the level of Brazil’s exports of halal products to Arab countries. The agreement aims to enhance the access of more Brazilian products to the halal market, especially more value-added food products. The Arab Chamber and Apex-Brazil will implement the "Halal from Brazil" project, to raise the volume of the sector's exports at the international level.

The agreement aims to bring the value of investments aimed at diversifying exports to about $2.84 million over a period of 30 months. These investments include providing financial support to Brazilian food companies seeking to obtain halal certification for their products, which mainly aims to provide these certifications to about 500 Brazilian food and beverage exporters to enable them to engage in the process of trading halal food globally. The agreement also focuses on increasing Brazilian exports to Malaysia and Indonesia, expanding the scope of trade exchange with Arab countries, and raising the level of halal food sales to countries with less Muslim populations, including France, Germany and the United Nations.

The President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Osmar Shehfeh, pointed out that the cooperation aims to promote and enhance the growth of Brazilian exports in Islamic markets, by providing halal certification certificates for Brazilian food companies, aiming to raise the level of certified halal food.
