The Tunisian Ministry of Tourism revealed that financial revenues from tourism activity have increased by 86 percent since the beginning of this year, as revenues exceeded the limits of three billion Tunisian dinars (about $937 million), which will contribute to supporting financial balances.

These revenues amounted to 2.4 billion Tunisian dinars (about 750 million dollars) in August, which reflects the expectations of the Tunisian authorities, which support tourism activities and activate their role in providing hard currency, as they work to achieve between 50 to 60 percent of the level of tourist activity recorded in 2019.

Despite the increase, the numbers witnessed by Tunisian tourism are still far from the records recorded during 2019, which became a reference for Tunisian tourism as a result of the records recorded by 9.5 million tourists and financial revenues in the range of 5 billion Tunisian dinars.

Tunisia received nearly 604,000 French tourists, recording an increase of 235 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
