Qatar's Private Sector Exports Increased by 21 percent

A report issued by the Qatar Chamber showed significant growth in private sector exports during the second quarter of 2022, as the value of private sector exports during the second quarter of this year (April, May, and June 2022) amounted to about 8.92 billion Qatari riyals, compared to 7.39 billion riyals during the same period last year, achieving an increase of 21 percent on an annual basis, on a quarterly basis, compared to the first quarter of the same year 2022, which amounted to about 7.73 billion riyals, we find it also increased, but by about 15.4 percent.

The report showed the ability of the private sector and the Qatari economy in general to adapt to natural and abnormal economic conditions and its ability to achieve rising growth rates, especially after a period of negative effects of the strict measures imposed by the state to combat the "Covid-19" pandemic. As the market mechanisms and operating plans in establishments and companies became the ones that control the operating levels in all economic activities. According to the report, the value of exports to the Arab region increased on an annual basis by 60.7 percent. The value of exports to the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council also increased by 249.2 percent.
