Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has approved an appendix to the budget for the current fiscal year, which will end next June, worth 6 billion pounds (329.5 million dollars).

President Sisi signed the supplement law for the current fiscal year, worth 6 billion pounds. This step coincides with the rise in financial costs on the Egyptian government, due to the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war, amid increases in the prices of most commodities, mainly fuels of all kinds and grains such as wheat and corn. In June 2021, the Egyptian parliament approved a record general budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, amounting to 2.46 trillion pounds ($158 billion), an increase of 17 percent over the budget of the previous fiscal year. The fiscal year in Egypt begins on the first of July and ends at the end of June of the following year.
