The economic bodies headed by the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, Muhamed Choucair, held a meeting at the headquarters of the Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, with the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz Al-Najjar, in the presence of the Lebanese Minister of Industry, George Bushkian, the Iraqi ambassador to Lebanon, Haider Shaya Al-Barrak, and the Lebanese ambassador to Iraq, Ali Habhab.

At the beginning of the meeting, Shukair thanked Iraq for its permanent support for Lebanon at all levels, the latest of which was the support it provided to Lebanon by providing Iraqi "fuel" for electricity plants. He considered that after the Russian-Ukrainian war, it became more and more important to focus primarily on food security “Hence, it is necessary to work together jointly on this issue by encouraging the establishment of food industries to maintain food security for the peoples of the two countries.”

Choucair stressed “the need to encourage the Lebanese to invest in Iraq by providing appropriate incentives and facilities.” Noting in this context that "an office was established in the Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon in order to develop economic relations, and the office has provided many services to the Lebanese who wish to invest in Iraq and vice versa."
