Osmar Chohfi: Maximizing the Reality of Brazilian Digital Commerce

The head of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Osmar Chohfi, explained that "the volume of trade exchange between Brazil and the Arab countries is witnessing continuous growth as a result of the strong economic relations linking the two sides, and the common interest in strengthening historical ties. In addition to the Chamber's focus on building and strengthening relationships with governments and trade and business associations, supporting talks for more free trade agreements, export diversification and foreign trade-related operations based on rapid digitization.

He pointed out that "there is a keenness to enhance communication between Brazilian and Arab startups, in order to serve efforts to double expansion opportunities in the target markets. The Chamber's business agenda also includes promoting Brazilian halal-compliant goods, as well as focusing on cultural works, and contributing to supporting talks on the Brazilian-Arab Free Trade Agreement.”

The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce announced that Brazilian exports to Arab countries recorded a growth of 26.1%, ending these countries combined last year as the fifth largest destination for Brazilian exports, and the fifth largest exporter to Brazil. The trade balance of Brazil with the Arab countries witnessed a remarkable growth during the past year, as the two sides succeeded in restoring the momentum of trade exchange and strengthening mutual economic relations.
