Saudi Exports Rise by 64 percent

Saudi merchandise exports recorded an increase in March 2021 compared to March 2020 by 64 percent, reaching 74.7 billion riyals in March 2021, up by 45.6 billion riyals in March 2020; This is as a result of the increase in petroleum exports by 22.4 billion riyals, by 75 percent.

According to the General Authority for Statistics data, the percentage of petroleum exports out of total exports increased from 65.6 percent to 70, while non-oil exports registered an increase of 42.9 percent, recording 22.4 billion riyals. Plastics and rubber and their articles represented 33.6 percent of the total non-oil exports, which rose by 57.8 percent, or by 2.8 billion riyals, whereas, chemical industries products represent 27.9 percent of total non-oil exports.

In March 2021, imports registered a 14 percent increase, or 6.1 billion riyals. It amounted to 49.4 billion riyals in March, compared to 43.3 billion riyals in March 2020; this is due to the increase in commodity prices compared to March 2020, the most influential of which were transport equipment and parts by 30.3 percent and pearls; And precious stones. The value of imports increased compared to the previous month, February 2021, by 9 billion riyals, or by 22.4 percent.
